I'm Lyn Coel and for over 24 years, I've been passionate about teaching Tap, Ballet and Jazz to children from preschool through highschool. At my studio, we create a positive and encouraging environment that inspires kids to shine and perform with confidence.
To kick off this exciting journey, I'm offering a **Free introductory class**! It's the perfect opportunity for your child to explore their dance aspirations and discover the joy of movement. Don't miss out of the chance for them to become an excellent performer! Sign up today and watch them light up the stage!
I started dancing at age nine and never stopped.
I studied Tap and Ballet at Agnes Gleason School of Dance in Chicago. Later, I expanded my training to include Tap, Ballet, Jazz, and Pointe at Ideal School of Dance in Evergreen Park, under Jerry Ann Soule. In college, I pursued dance studies and trained under Mary Marks in Chicago. Additionally, I studied Hip-Hop under Boogie McClarin at the Old Town School of Folk Music. Attending dance conventions and taking master classes with esteemed instructors such as Diane Walker, Tony Waag, Margaret Morrison, Germaine Salsberg, Dr. Jeni LeGon, Dr. Harold Cromer, Tre Dumas III, Jabowen Dixon, and Star Dixon has been a significant highlight of my dance journey. Currently, I continue to study with Bril Barrett.
I've taught at Hyde Park School of Dance, Ruth Page Center for the Arts, Old Town School of Folk Music, Vero Dance Studio and S.P.A.C.E. in Chicago. I taught Tap, Pre-Ballet, Kids Hip Hop and Creative Movement at Old Town School of Folk Music for 19 years.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in General Communication from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
